"The beginning of my career started when I was around 12 years old. Tagging along with my father, Mike Oakes on flooring jobs. At first, I was not doing much actual work, but I had learned a lot more than I had realized at the time. It was not long before I was installing sheet vinyl, and eventually carpet and picked up the rest as the years went on. As I grew older, I was never sure if installing flooring was the career path I wanted to take. My only absolute certainties about myself were, that I wanted to be in some sort of trade and also own my own business. I have had several different construction ventures in between, but I have always went back to what I knew best, which was installing flooring. On January 26th, 2016..Oakes Flooring LLC was born."

"I was born and raised in Rhode Island with my sister and two brothers. My extended family consists of more than 30 first and second cousins, but everyone was treated as immediate family, which is still the case today. I love to spend time with my wife, daughter, two sons, and our dog. We absolutely love boating around Winneconne, Oshkosh, and up the Wolf River to Fremont. Lunch at the Hahn-a-Lula has quickly become a summer tradition! We also enjoy taking the kids to Bay Beach, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, and taking the boat to swim at the Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca."
